“Dear Hemophilia: Finding Hope Though Chronic Illness,” is a personal memoir depicting Cazandra’s life raising two sons with Severe hemophilia A and inhibitors.

Her story is one of hope and strength which everyone living with a chronic illness or rare disease can understand. Her belief that those with challenging medical conditions have more in common with each other than not is evident in her book. Having hope during the worst of times is something that Cazandra has held on to over the years. She shares her heart when she writes and invites you into her life while letting you know you are not alone.

What I do

About Me

My name is Cazandra Cecilia Campos “hyphen” MacDonald (yes, that’s how my husband says my name). My Dad’s name was Gonzalo hence the “Z” in my name. I am a classically trained musician, former music educator turned healthcare advocate with a passion for writing, public speaking, and chaplaincy.

Speaking

Whether you need a keynote speaker for your conference, someone to develop a series of messages for a retreat, or a person to lead and facilitate break-out sessions, Cazandra will work with you to craft the perfect message (s) for your audience. Speaking to groups numbering over a thousand to small groups of 10, Cazandra finds the purpose and meaning of the message needed for those listening. It’s not about the size of the audience, but having the ability to interact, speak to and be present for those in attendance.

Writing

Cazandra started blogging in 2006 and has written over 800 posts over the years. From a blog focusing on spiritual matters to one focused on raising her sons with hemophilia, she is now a weekly columnist for Hemophilia News Today. She wrote a column on faith while living in Truth or Consequences, NM for The Sentinel. Cazandra has been featured on The Mighty, Scary Mommy, Global Genes, and the Hemophilia Federation of America’s “Infusing Love” blog.

Devotions in the Desert

Cazandra began her appointment as pastor of St. Paul’s UMC at the height of the Covid pandemic. In order to connect with her congregation when meeting in person was not possible, she began a weekly, online devotional, Devotions in the Desert. Finding hope in Christ is a primary mission in Cazandra’s ministry.

A Night to Remember

A Night to Remember

June 13th was a day that surpassed my wildest dreams. I was ordained a Deacon in Full Connection in the United Methodist Church. I was overwhelmed by those who came to support me. Members from my precious St. Paul's Socoro congregation, members of St. Stephen's...

Cazandra is an amazing speaker.  Her storytelling is quite remarkable.  She has the ability to connect with her audience in a manner that they feel comfortable and willing to open up and share.  She is able to add humor to her message and provides tools for her audience to make a difference in their lives.  Cazandra is a genuine person and the audience sees this.  Truly inspirational and a pleasure to have as a speaker.

Rigoberto Garcia, MPH

“I’m not sure words are adequate to describe the impact Cazandra has when she speaks. She is a voice of reason…of compassion…of experience…of knowledge. I’ve known Cazandra for almost 20 years. She has been a friend and a mentor to me and countless others in the bleeding disorders community. Cazandra has a way of crafting words to make a point but to also reassure the listener. She is expressive. She is dynamic. I would listen to her all day if I could.  I highly recommend her for an encouraging, teaching -based, and motivating speaker.

Melissa Compton

Executive Director, Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation, Houston, TX

“Cazandra belongs to the church I attend. She also took a writing class that I presented. I knew of her musical talents but was amazed at two other assets she has. One, her writing comes straight from her heart. She’s expressive as well as informative. I was pleased to have heard her give two talks, one for a woman’s group and the second as a sermon. Wow! I think if she were a pastor at any given church, the church would have standing room only! She is a fine Christian, a wonderful friend and a loving mother. It is my pleasure to know her.”
Barbara Walsh

Author, Deming, NM

“Cazandra MacDonald has a gift! We have enjoyed her wit and wisdom for two separate events. Cazandra’s grace, humor, and honesty shine through her words and her presentation in a way that connects extremely well with the participants. I recommend Cazandra highly as a Conference leader and speaker.”

Rev. Adrianne Coleman

“Cazandra MacDonald has a compelling personal story to tell. She speaks to those who face similar challenges with a thoughtful and upbeat message of hope. Cazandra quickly captures the attention of an audience with her quick wit and powerful message of perseverance. She is truly a talented inspirational speaker.”
Jim Paist

Executive Director, Hemophilia Foundation of the Minnesota/Dakotas

“Cazandra carries with her as she speaks a comfort level to share others stories so that she can make and help you feel comfortable. Her experience is God given and He has given her the ability to help others who just might need that little bit of help along the way.”
