commit

My one word for 2016 is “commit” and let me tell you something…it’s the word for me!  I feel like for the first time since I started participating in One Word that I have truly embraced my word.  I have committed to taking care of myself and am doing a pretty good job…not just with the physical, but the emotional as well.  I am committing to prayer, to deepening my spiritual life and just taking care of myself.  It has meant letting go of some things, redefining some relationships and pursuing the things that I am most passionate about.

We have only one life and as I get closer to turning fifty, sometimes I am overwhelmed when I realize that half of my life is over.  I’m not expecting to live to be a hundred years old, and what I know is that I want to live the last part of my life with great intention and filled with joy.  So yes, I need to be healthy and it’s not too late to feel better.  That is something I can control and I am committing to making 2016 the year that my health is at its best.

My spiritual life also needs some help.  The beauty of our spiritual lives is that they never get to a point of “completion.”  It’s a work in progress and I hope that until my last days on this earth that I can say I am still working on my relationship with God.  It’s my heart’s desire to have an intimate relationship with the One who created me.

I am committed to living my best life.
