It’s really December 3rd. I don’t feel like the holiday season has truly begun. It’s not cold enough! It looks like the weather will cool down some more this week and I am hoping that the Christmas season will start to resonate in my home. There is decorating and baking to do and I don’t want to let the season slip past me and not enjoy as much of it as I possibly can.

I find that I am already looking forward to 2018. I think I have even decided on my One Word for next year. I’ll share it later. I know that the year to come has a lot of surprises in store and I am ready. 2017 has been filled with some significant pain and right along side the pain has been joy. Experiencing the joy has been tainted. I hate that. I find that I pull away from some things in my life that used to bring me great fulfillment and happiness and I have allowed some ugly, negative people to reside in my soul and I have allowed them to rob me of joy. That is uncalled for and I am trying my best to work through it and forgive. It just takes time.

I am working to keep true to my practice of working on my manuscript daily, working on my podcast, starting my day with time in prayer and starting to prepare for school in January. And most importantly, I am loving on my family. Helping with homework, being present and encouraging each other is the most important gift I can give to them.

I won’t let anyone take that away from me.

Today I Am Thankful For:

  1. Cowboy church
  2. Pork chops
  3. Coyotes
  4. Good lotion
  5. Meeting new people
