When my husband and I were dating, many, many years ago, the “Card Fairy” would often visit him (and me). She would show up on the seat of the car, on the windshield after work, in the mailbox or even accompanied by flowers…you just never knew when she would show up.
I have a box full of the cards that I have received over the years and they still make me smile.
I stopped by the mailbox this afternoon and a bright, blue card was waiting for me. The card fairy came (and she was not summoned by my husband).
I absolutely cracked up! This card changed my entire day. The words of kindness inside touched me deeply.
My friend saw this card and thought of me. But what really happened was that God whispered to her and she listened. She followed through and God worked through her by reaching out to me. He knew I needed some encouragement and kind words. And they came exactly when I needed them.
Has someone ever come to mind and you thought “I wonder how so and so is doing?” Or, “I haven’t heard from so and so in a long time.” I truly believe that is God saying “Reach out to them, Beloved, they need you. They need me.”
You never know when God needs you to work for Him. It’s not always in a big, grandiose way…sometimes it’s the smallest of gestures where He is glorified.
