“The holiest moment of the church service is the moment when God’s people go out of the church door into the world to be the Church.” –Ernest Southeon
Isn’t that a great quote? And isn’t it even better when we are part of that mission, to go out in the world and be the Church?
I would love to say that if we are out in the world “oozing” and living the best lives we can all in the name of Christ that everyone in our path would “get it” and see that Christ is the answer. That faith is important and that something greater than ourselves is truly out there.
It’s not always that easy. You go out, live the best example you can, yet someone closest to you (maybe your teenager) doesn’t get it. You can live a life of ministry, “preach” until you are blue in the face, bring up example after example of why you believe what you believe and it falls onto deaf ears.
What do you do?
Sometimes the only thing left to do is pray. I don’t mean a prayer at night that sounds like this: “Dear God, please be with my son/daughter to make good decisions…..etc.” I mean a prayer that screams out from you soul: “Father, God, hold my son/daughter close! Show him/her that supernatural love that only comes from you!”
It’s hard to watch those close to you refuse to see what you know as the “truth.”
We have to let people go on their own journey. No one’s path is exactly the same as the next person.
We just need to pray for those we hold close that they may find that relationship with the Creator of the Universe which will change their lives forever.
