You hardly ever see my mighty warrior, Caeleb without a sketchbook and pencil in hand. He loves to draw. The boy goes through sketchbooks like water! He just can’t get enough and I love it. I saw an announcement a few weeks back about the Blood Work art exhibit at the NHF  70th Annual Meeting. It’s a wonderful exhibit and I have always enjoyed walking through to see the talent in our bleeding disorder community. I mentioned the exhibit to Caeleb and he submitted one of his pieces for consideration.

“Dear Caeleb MacDonald,

On behalf of FOLX, I want to thank you for submitting images of your work for consideration in the Blood Work exhibition at NHF’s 70th Annual Meeting. Your participation has helped us develop a body of work that represents our diverse community and in turn, allows our community to acknowledge your creative success.

I am pleased to inform you that one or more of your works was ACCEPTED for inclusion at the on-site exhibition in Orlando. “

I am so happy for my son. His community is recognizing him for his creativity. The creativity that makes him so very special and utterly unique. I immediately sent out text messages to friends to have them take pictures of the exhibit since we will not be attending.

Here is to my son, my mighty warrior who has overcome so much in his twelve years. My son who struggles to find his place.

Caeleb, I think you are finding your way.

Today I Am Thankful For:
