Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Cooking a feast for my family brings me great joy. Before we bless the food, we go around the table and share something that we are thankful for in our life. It is a time that I cherish as I hear the men in my life share from the depths of their hearts. I can never speak words that come close to expressing the love I have for my men. It’s impossible. Being wife and mother are two roles in my life that make me happiest and for that I give thanks.

This year is a little different. Actually, quite a bit different. When I walk into the door of my home, I feel a warmth and comfort that I have not felt for quite a long time. It is a place that brings me happiness. My church family is amazing, my sons are healthy, my husband is thriving, and I am feeling my spirit, my calling to ministry awaken from a deep, dark depression.

This season is filled with anticipation as I journey towards healing, wholeness, and discovery. I am happy and content and I give tremendous thanks to my Creator for never leaving me.

Today I Am Thankful For:

  1. A roaring fire
  2. Vanilla candles
  3. Preparing for the feast
  4. Hot chocolate
  5. Turning in my final paper for the quarter
