I’ve been pretty overwhelmed lately…..with my youngest son in the hospital just getting through a “normal” day and making sure my family is intact is a huge undertaking.

Here I am, on the evening of about the 25th day (I’ve lost count) in the hospital as the evening is drawing to a close still feeling overwhelmed.  But it’s not all necessarily in bad way.

Yes, the typical overwhelming feeling has been present as my son is struggling to heal but…

When church members came to our home Friday night loaded down with food so that we had one less thing to worry about, I was completely taken back.

When church family comes to visit (and always at just the right times) it is a blessing.

When a nurse sees my son struggling and gives him a hug with encouraging words that is absolute, unconditional love.

And when a kind nurse stays in the room during an infusion and talks to me throughout to keep my eyes off the numbers on the monitor to take away my anxiety, that is almost too much to put into words of appreciation.

But the absolute, most overwhelming thing of all is when you try to comprehend the love the Father has for each of us.  Unconditional, given to us freely, without reservation.  He loves us right where we are at this very moment….not when we are 10 pounds lighter, or have a better job.

Right here, right now.

God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will.  Expect love, love, and more love!        Jeremiah 31:3 (MSG)
