Joy in 2013

It’s been a rough year.  With my son’s health issues, our family has struggled.  Hospital stays, seeing him endure enormous amounts of pain….it’s just not been easy.  And trying to keep life moving with any amount of normalcy has been a challenge.

I am not going to put any more focus on the hard part of 2013.  It is done!  What I do know is that despite the challenges, being exhausted, anxious and living with tons of uncertainty that the one thing I can always be certain of is that the Creator of  the Universe loves me right now, at this moment, exactly the way I am.

I have experienced joy through the yuck and I am a better person because of the challenges that have been put in front of me.  God has been with me through every part of my journey.  Even when I stray and find myself not relying on Him completely, He has never left me.

His mercies are new every day and joy comes with the morning.

“For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime.  Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”   Psalm 30:5 (NRSV)
