I started my Monday like any other, knowing that my “to do” list for work was pretty long. I went into the office in town (to pick up a loaner laptop) and what did I see? Hundreds of balloons in the air for the Balloon Fiesta! It is always breathtaking.
My day began with emails, calls, catching up and I felt as if I could not get anything accomplished. But it was sure good to be home after a long business trip.
I gave thanks to God for having a job that I love.
I received birthday wishes from my colleagues with a shaky version of “Happy Birthday” on a morning conference call and several messages. I was even the recipient of several birthday cards in the mail (handwritten cards always make me feel special) 🙂
I gave thanks to God for being surrounded by friends.
I attended a funeral with several colleagues to honor the husband of one of our own. To be able to gather together and pray and support her family was a blessing. Especially today as I remember my Dad’s passing six years ago.
I gave thanks for having the opportunity to grieve with others and remember.
And my day came to a close having a nice dinner with my family and one of my dearest friends from high school.
I gave thanks for the warmth of a hug from a dear friend.
I could not ask for anything more.
Today I Am Thankful For:
- Balloons
- The smell of fall
- High school memories
- Laughing
- Being surrounded by love
