worship

I realized something in church today.

First of all, it was a fantastic service!  We had a combined service with hymns and praise music had the “Blessing of the Backpacks” and passed out Bibles to our 3rd graders.  I played special music with a new friend who is a wonderful accompanist and we all worshipped together, had a great potluck, and spent quite a bit of time with friends after lunch.

It was a wonderful morning, but I realized something and it made me sad.  I enjoy worship on Sunday’s but lately my “worship” has only been on Sunday’s.

I have been so busy with work, my youngest started back to school and my TEDxABQ talk is coming up on September 12th.  Yes, these are realities….they should not be excuses!

Ugh!  How do I let this happen?  Things are going so well in my life and the lives of my family that I start to get used to “normal stuff.”  I am not making time for my relationship with God.

Don’t we all find ourselves getting wrapped up in our lives forgetting to thank God for even the smallest of things?  We are all so busy that when things are going well we forget to thank the One who has blessed us.

I know some people who had some pretty big bombshells drop on them this past week.  My prayer is that they are actively talking and crying out to God!  That they are on their knees listening to His voice.

There could be a bombshell at any moment in my life and tonight I am getting back on my knees to talk to the One who has blessed me more than I deserve.

Today I Am Thankful For:

  1. A cool afternoon
  2. Leftover fajitas
  3. Coffee
  4. Netflix “binge watching”
  5. Washing dishes by hand (good memories)
