God's timing

In 2007 I heard God call me to ministry.  I tried to ignore it but it just would not go away.  I remember browsing online and I came across the Proverbs 31 Ministries site.  They were offering a special conference for women in ministry called She Speaks.  There was actually something out there for someone like me!

Without thinking twice, I boarded a plane to North Carolina where I did not know a single soul; God was opening a door.  A light turned on inside of me that has been burning ever since.  Yes, there have been many times where I have been completely discouraged.  I work full-time and have two sons with severe bleeding disorders (my youngest has pretty severe complications) and am the wife of a pastor.  I am a busy woman…how in the world can I be in ministry?

The beauty of it is that ministry happens all of the time, everywhere.  I want my speaking ministry to grow.  I want to become an ordained deacon in the church.  But sometimes things turn out differently than what we imagined.

I’m not giving up on what I want my ministry to look like, but what I do know is that I am not going to stop doing God’s work because it looks a little different than what we expected.

And seven years later I am being called to speak at events to share the Word….it’s all in God’s time.
