Sometimes we try to go it alone.  Maybe we move a lot and are not settled long enough to establish relationships.  Perhaps the season of your life that you are in requires lots of time at work or at home with your little children.  And maybe you just have a hard time making friends.

That’s what I love about Social Media 🙂  I am really just a Facebook person (I don’t really understand “The Twitter“).  I belong to several “groups” and I find that these groups give me a place to express my opinions with like minded folks.  I mainly belong to groups that deal with bleeding disorders and have recently joined a new group with Hello Mornings.  I am pretty excited about the group.  We start tomorrow morning!

It is a community of women around the world who want to deepen their relationship with Christ by devoting themselves to daily devotional time and study, as well as having an accountability group.  It’s also the first group I’ve really belonged to outside of the bleeding disorders world and it’s a nice change.

I have thought for the longest time that I should be able to have my daily devotional/study time with God on my own.  I’ve found that it has not been easy and I beat myself up when I fail to spend time working on my relationship with Him.  As my group members have been introducing themselves I heard my voice!  They are just like me, struggling with setting aside a time for devotion.  I seemed to think that because I am a pastor’s wife that I should not need any help with this.

Truth is that I am a woman with struggles like everyone else.  I put my pants on one leg at a time like everyone else.  I fail often.  I don’t always have the heart of a good Christian woman, but God loves me just as I am right at this moment if I spent time in prayer and devotion first thing in the morning, or not.

I want to deepen my relationship with the One who matters most.  If I focus on my relationship with Him and put what is truly top priority in my life, everything else will make sense…if I like the answers to my prayers or not.

Today I Am Thankful For:

    1. washcloths
    2. flashlights
    3. quiet on a hospital floor
    4. a great movie! (The Butler)
