This morning was a little crazier than usual.  It was not a simple “get up and hit the ground running” kind of Monday.  We were all moving a little slower than usual.  “Christian” was not feeling well in the wee hours so my husband and I were up taking care of him (he’s good).  Once everyone finally got out of the house I was ready to start my day.  I needed to focus and get some things started for the week, but my heart was just not settled.

I listened to the still, small voice in my head (it’s really God) telling me to stop.  I hadn’t spent time with Him and that is what I was missing.  I stepped away from my computer and sat for a few moments and read a devotional.  I spent a few minutes listening to myself breathe as I talked to God and thanked him for the blessings in my life.  I literally spent 10 – 15 minutes doing this and when I went back to my computer I felt like a completely different person.

I didn’t have to go to church to do this, I stopped right where I was at.  It doesn’t take any “thing” to spend time in devotion to God.  And there’s not a time limit!

Beloved, nothing can separate us from the love of God!  No matter where you are!

I took a few moments to refresh my soul and it made all the difference.

Have you stopped today long enough to hear God’s voice?

Have you stopped today to thank Him for giving you another day of life to love your family?

The day is not over.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)

Today I Am Thankful For:

  1. A new book
  2. Hearing zippers and buttons click as the dryer spins
  3. Making hard decisions
  4. Hanging files
  5. Clearing a desk filled with clutter
