My husband asked me what I wanted to do for Mother’s Day. “Come home after church, eat at home, and maybe do a few things around the house,” was my answer. I am preparing to be out of town for business for a few days so spending the day at home sounded great.
And it was.
Because the start of my day could not have been better in my dreams.
As I was getting ready for church, my oldest son, “Lance” who is almost 18, came in with my present. I must say, it’s the best present I’ve ever received.
In the tradition of his choir and theatre groups, he created a trio of “paper plates” for me.
“Father, how have I been so fortunate to be the mother to two of your most beautiful creatures on this Earth? It’s almost too much for me to grasp; that you have given such a task for me to see through. I am blessed beyond measure, Lord, and today my heart overflows.”
Today I Am Thankful For:
- Wind that blows your porch clean
- A suitcase that is just the right size
- strawberries
- Flip cameras
- Paper plates
