When my husband and I were dating we frequently left cards for each other….the “Card Fairy” would visit often 🙂
Sometimes she would leave a note on a car windshield or would magically appear in a college textbook. You never knew where or when she would leave a sweet note.
Over the years of our marriage the Card Fairy has nudged me time after time to send a note of appreciation, thanks, and prayer not just to my husband but to family, friends and colleagues.
I received a phone call from a friend who was a recent Card Fairy recipient and the story she told was pretty amazing. After traveling for days upon days doing work that he felt was getting nowhere, and filling himself with doubt about what he was doing every day, the card came (as always) at the perfect time. It only took a few moments to stop and write a few encouraging words and the cost of a stamp to make a difference in her life. It was needed at that moment. Not two weeks ago or a day ago, but on that afternoon when she returned home.
I am so glad I listened to God and took the time to send that little card.
If you haven’t figured it out by now, The Card Fairy is just a fun persona that is indeed God at work. He has always put a nudge on my heart (and does it to you also) to reach out to someone and the timing is always perfect, as long as we follow through.
It may not be a card but maybe a phone call, buying lunch for someone, paying for coffee for the person behind you in line….there are many ways to answer that nudge God puts on you.
Have you felt it lately?
Did you follow through?
It’s not too late…it may be just the right time.
Today I Am Thankful For:
- A rainy, cold afternoon (they don’t happen in NM very often)
- candles
- text messaging
- cold toes
- homework
