It’s official. I will be speaking at the TEDxABQ event at Popejoy Hall, in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday, September 12th.
To date, this is one of the hardest things I have ever had do in regards to public speaking. The coaching process is pretty intense and the speaker coaches really push you to make your message powerful and within a certain time frame. And every speaker has a completely different topic and it is so cool!
I wrote earlier about taking risks and having a secret, and this is it. My talk will focus on living with chronic illness, losing your identity as a caregiver and having hope. I am so honored, thrilled and actually, still stunned that this is happening.
It is giving me the opportunity to not only reach out to the chronic illness community but to talk about hemophilia and inhibitors on a large stage.
Yesterday I gave a keynote speech to the good people in Iowa at the Iowa Family Education Weekend and it was just phenomenal! I truly felt like I was put exactly where God wanted me to be for such a time as this. Everything I’ve ever wanted and dreamed about in the way of my passion for public speaking is truly happening. For the chronic illness community, for educating at the corporate level, women’s ministry….all of it!
I am so blessed and happy that I can’t hardly even stand it.
Daddy, it’s true, like you always said, “If things were any better, I wouldn’t believe it.”
Today I Am Thankful For:
- The folks in Iowa
- Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks Conference 2008 – when I truly found my calling
- An open, giving heart
- Thunder
- watermelon toes 🙂
