Is it your best friend…your spouse…a family member?

When I started to think about this question I realized that the person I talk to most often is….. me!

I will admit that more often than not the things I say to myself are not very kind.  Doubt creeps in, comparison takes over and the list goes on and on about how I feel like I am not measuring up to what I can do better.

You know what the truth is, Beloved?  We are not just talking to ourselves, God is hearing every word that comes out of our mouths and our hearts.  His heart breaks when we think less of who we are because He knows us as a masterpiece.   He didn’t make junk and we shouldn’t talk to ourselves like we are.

I am making an effort to be more intentional in my prayer life and I’m not talking about the time that I am sitting still and listening to God (I’m not too good about that).  It’s the time I am running from place to place getting things done, when I am washing clothes, cooking a meal, driving to and from the office and on a business trip.  All of these times are times where we should “pray without ceasing.”  Have you stopped to think about how many opportunities we have during the day to pray?

have you talked

No more excuses for me.  Yes, I am a very busy woman, but God is waiting on me every day to have a little conversation.

How are you going to show up for conversation in your busy life?

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NRSV)

Today I Am Thankful For:

  1. A pleasant waiter
  2. Snow covered mountains
  3. Seeing my face glow with a little sun after a trail ride (the first physical glow with winter leaving)
  4. The savoring crunch of fresh carrots by a grateful horse
  5. Sunday afternoon catnaps
